1. Thermionic Fabricator
The most powerful upgrade to the Alveary requires electron tubes. These are made in a machine called the Thermionic Fabricator. Using sand and some ores from its internal inventory, it can create a tube of your choice. The Termionic Fabricator has 4 slots. 1) Input: Internal inventory. 2) Input: Sand blocks for molten glass. 3) Input: Recipe shape to use. 4) Output: Electron Tubes. Tip: Different tubes have different effects based on where and how they are being used. |
2. Chipsets
Now you need to attach the tubes to a circuit board in order to create a chipset. Depending on the quality of a circuit board, up to four tubes can be attached using a Soldering Iron. Simply right-click holding it in your hand to open the interface, then place the board and tubes you wish to connect. Tip: These chipsets can also be used on machines, such as automated farms, the centrifuges squeezer and carpenter to improve them. |
3. Electric stimulation
If your Alveary is already outfitted with a Transmission as energy input, you can now also include an Electrical Stimulator in the structure. Place one of your chipsets in the interface of the stimulator and its effects will be exerted onto the bees in the Alveary, massively boosting the chosen attributes. Multiple stimulators will stack, but be careful! Much like frames, these stimulators cause genetic decay and will kill off your queen if you use too many at once. Anything up to three is considered safe. |
4. Genetic Sampling
What if I told you that you can re-write a bees DNA completely? The first things you will need are a Genetic Sampler, plenty of Labware and a few Blank Samples. When supplied with these items and some spare drones as shown in the example picture, it will begin extracting a randomly chosen trait of the drone onto a blank sample, killing it in the process. The Genetic Sampler consumes one Labware per trait extracted and requires an incredibly large amount of energy for each operation. Use this machine to extract any preferable traits or abilities from spare drones. Tip: If an unwanted Trait has been written onto a Sample, you can clear the sample by "cooking" it in a regular furnace. |
5. Genetic Imprinting
After you have aquired a few useful samples, you will need to write them onto a Blank Template. Simply combine the Template with one or more of your samples to create a Genetic Template holding all of your favorite traits. Once that is done, craft a Genetic Imprinter. Like the Sampler, this machine also consumes a lot of energy and one labware per operation. It will write the traits of your Template onto any drone supplied. Your Template will not be consumed in the process! Tip: You can make a copy of your Genetic Template using a Genetic Transposer. Tip: This will only work on drones. If you attempt to Imprint a Princess or Queen, the machine will turn it into Genetic Waste! |
6. The ultimate housing
Using all your aquired knowledge to craft an Industrial Apiary will allow you to unlock your bees full potential. This machine constantly consumes some energy and does not supply any boost or upgrades to modify the bees lifespan or mutation chance. However, it offers an even greater boost to productivity and climate adjustment than even the Alveary! It can also be fully automated using such an upgrade instead of various pipes and pumps. For problems, the interface uses its own alert icon in the upper right corner. The Industrial Apiary has 3 slots. 1) Input: Princess and Drone. 2) Input: Upgrades. 3) Output: Items and offspring produced. |
7. Industrial Upgrades
By combining various difficult to obtain bee produce, you can create Upgrade Frames for your Industrial Apiary. These Upgrade Frames can then be modified to perform certain functions or emulate Biomes as if the bees were living in them! No extra energy cost: Humidity Adjustments: Max. 10 installed Temperature Adjustments: Max. 10 installed Pollen Scrubber: Max. 1 installed Biome Emulation: Max. 1 installed 10% Extra energy cost: Productivity Booster: Max. 5 installed 50% Extra energy cost: Full Automation: Max. 1 installed |
